location ideas for dog photography in Colorado

Favorite Dog Photo Locations

With two national grasslands, eleven National Forests, forty-three Wilderness areas, three national conservation areas, four National Parks, forty-two state parks, numerous open space areas, and several National Monuments, there are endless options for stunning photo locations in Colorado.

So how could you possibly even know where to begin, let alone narrow it down? That’s where I come in! An important part of my job is finding the location that’s perfect for you. While what follows are by no means the only locations I work in, these are some of my favorite areas for creating amazing photos.

Boulder County

Boulder County is known for its incredible nature and extensive network of hiking trails. From the iconic Flatirons rising over the grasslands to the out-of-this-world beauty that is the Indian Peaks Wilderness, you’ll find it all here.

  • Mt. Falcon

Clear Creek County

Clear Creek County sits 3,000 ft. above Denver on the eastern slope of the Continental Divide. This area offers beautiful and varied mountain landscapes from pristine tundra to alpine lakes.

  • Mt. Evans

  • St. Mary’s Glacier

  • Echo Lake Park

Summit County

Summit County is quintessential Colorado. Lush wooded mountainsides, high alpine passes, lakes and tumbling waterfalls can be found here. If you’re looking for “Colorado views” this is your place.
