Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I work with Allison Mae Photography?

I offer a unique skill set that combines both artistic sensibility with animal behavior know-how. When you work with me you can be assured that you will not only have beautiful photographs, but a rewarding, fun-filled session as well.

Where do I start?

I’m most easily reached via email. Simply send me a message telling me a little bit about you, your pets and what you’re looking for and we can get the ball rolling.

Do you have a studio?

For your convenience, both lifestyle and in-studio sessions take place on location. This means either at location of your choice or with my portable studio that I set up in your home.

My dog has to be on leash. Will that be a problem?

Not at all. Your pet’s safety is top priority. I will provide a long line that allows your pet plenty of room to roam while still remaining safely under control. The line will then be removed in post-processing; you’ll never know it was there.

My dog is out of control. Will you still be able to get good photos?

Absolutely! 99% of the photos you see on this website are of pets that are rambunctious and full of energy. With over five years of full-time pet photography experience I have pretty much seen it all and can work with nearly anything.

Can I be in the picture? What should I wear?

I highly encourage you to be in at least a few photos with your pet. Be sure to wear whatever you look and feel your best in. Here are a few handy to tips on how to dress for your pet photography session.

Do you photograph animals other than dogs?

Yes! While dogs are certainly a favorite, I have photographed everything from cats to rats. Growing up a horse crazy kid and an avid rider, horses in particular, hold a special place in my heart.

Are gift certificates available?

Gift certificates are available in any amount starting at $100 and may be applied toward any session or product.
